Cristian Mijares vs. Chatchai Sasakul

Cristian Mijares vs. Chatchai Sasakul (WBA & WBC Superflyweight Title)

Mijares is a guy who handily beat Jorge Arce and holds two title belts at superflyweight. So you know he is for real. Sasakul is a guy who got beat up by Manny Pacquiao in 1998 and hasn't done a whole lot since.

Round 1: Mijares establishes a right jab fairly quickly and adds a straight left at the end of it. Sasakul is throwing but really not landing much of anything. He's a little overwhelmed by Mijares workrate and accuracy. 10-9 Mijares

Round 2: Ok these rounds are clipped. this is retarded. Hopefully i can track down a complete version. Mijares throttles Sasakul with a left at the end of the round and Sasakul stumbles back and falls down. hes up and his trainer is in the ring trying to bring him back to the corner before the ref can ever start a count. this should probably be an automatic DQ but the ref essentially tells him to get lost. He gives Sasakul a standing 8 but it's obvious he is in no condition to continue as he stumbles around the ring and looks lost. He eventually makes it back to his corner and is allowed to continue. 10-8 Mijares

Round 3: Mijares lights him up about a minute into the round. he lands a left uppercut followed by a right that sends Sasaku to the mat. The ref makes the call he should have made a round earlier and waves the fight off. Sasakul looked like he had no chin and no business being in the ring with Mijares. I'd like to see Mijares in a more competitive fight next time out. Hopefully a fight with Darchinyan is in the cards.
